The Follow-Up Email That Gets Septic Quotes Answered

Septic quotes split into two very different urgency levels — a new system install is a major decision that takes time to say yes to, while a repair after a backup is urgent and rarely needs much follow-up at all. The follow-up sequence below is built for the install side, where silence usually means hesitation, not no.

Day 0: the quote-sent message

Send the quote with a short note restating the scope: "Attached is your quote for the [pump-out / repair / new system] work we discussed. It's good for 30 days. Septic issues don't wait, so happy to answer any questions before you decide."

Day 3: the nudge

A low-pressure check-in that offers to adjust: "Just checking in on the quote I sent a few days ago. If timing or scope needs adjusting, I'm glad to revise it."

Day 7: the final follow-up

One last respectful message: "I don't want to keep bugging you, so this is my last check-in. If now isn't the right time, no problem — the quote details are saved if you want to revisit later."

After the job: the review request

Ask the same day or next morning — especially after resolving an urgent backup, when relief is highest and the review is most likely to be specific and grateful.

These scripts are starting points, not a guarantee of any particular response rate — adjust the tone and timing to how you actually talk to clients.
